GAY LIVES CULTURE WARS

Through the eyes of gay and lesbian youth and their families GAY LIVES CULTURE WARS explores the challenges of coming to terms with being gay in the face of society’s homophobia. The video graphically depicts and counters the myths and misinformation spread by the religious right, showing the correlation of this anti-gay movement with all discriminatory movements throughout history.

FIGHTING FOR OUR LIVES

Produced in 1992 by Elaine Velazquez and Barbara Bernstein to defeat Measure 9, a ballot measure in Oregon, that attempted to deprive lesbians and gays of their basic human rights. This organizing video presents interviews with Oregonians from all over the state explaining why it was important to vote against the anti-gay Ballot Measure 9. Measure 9 was defeated by a 14 point margin.
